He should not be judged in any way shape or form for wanting to move on, no matter what you think about the quality of the more recent X-films. The Graham Norton Show reunited McKellen, Huge Jackman, and Patrick Stewart - and the 78-year-old highly-respected thespian was able to give his friends and ex-colleagues a piece of his mind.

Of Jackman's Wolverine performances, Mangold told Heat Vision, "It's a tough thing to play such strength and also so much heart, and he's done it consistently, movie after movie".

"The movie ended and we were going to be taken up on stage, but not until the credits were over".

"While the credits were rolling - and they are long in these movies - I realised that if this is the end, there is no more flawless and attractive way to say "au revoir", goodbye, "adios", than what has just happened". Hugh Jackman has described his 17 years as Wolverine as "like a dream" as he attended a special screening of "Logan" in New York City.

Logan is expected to mark the final turn for Jackman as the fan-favorite Wolverine, but Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has tried to convince Jackman to suit up again in the future.

The movie is sure to a bittersweet event for fans who are excited for the movie yet will be heartbroken with having to say goodbye to two such classic characters. Now, according to a Sirius XM interview, it looks like it will also be Sir Patrick Stewart's last appearance as Professor Charles "X" Xavier.

"When you get to my age, you want to leave aside those exhausted old franchises, move onto something fresh".

He even divulged a cheeky anecdote from their days on set of the first X-Men.

The actor revealed that he plans on dropping out of the X-Men series.
