How Did Las Vegas Shooter Get His Arsenal? Easily, And Legally

U.S. President Donald Trump listens during his joint press conference with President Sauli Niinistö of the Republic of Finland in the East Room of the White House on Monday

Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip and Interstate 15 after receiving reports of an active shooter at the Route 91 Harvest festival, near the Mandalay Bay Casino at about 10:10 p.m. local time.

The room, which goes for $590 a night, was given to Paddock for free because he was a good customer who wagered tens of thousands of dollars each time he visited the casino, the person said.

The Filipina woman, 62, is considered a "person of interest" in the investigation of the attack, Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Tuesday afternoon. He said that Stephen Paddock did not have a "religious belief" known.

"We believe Paddock is exclusively responsible for these heinous acts", a police department representative said. She tells him he doesn't have to get up, but he insists. He also may have scouted out the location, renting a room at the Ogden, a nearby hotel, during the Life is lovely festival a week earlier, Lombardo said.

Paddock wired US$100,000 (NZD$140,000) to the Philippines days before the shooting, a U.S. official not authorised to speak publicly because of the continuing investigation said on condition of anonymity.

Lombardo also said none of the cameras Paddock put up in the hotel room where he unleashed gunfire onto a concert crowd were recording.

Paddock's violent transformation has mystified everyone - his brother, investigators and the families he victimized. Danley and Paddock reportedly lived together in the suburbs in Mesquite, Nevada.

FRIENDS of Australian "person of interest" Marilou Danley say she left America two weeks before the worst mass shooting in USA history.

Mangrobang said authorities in the Philippines have been communicating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Department of Homeland Security.

"Subsequently they approached the room, received gunfire, they backed off and SWAT responded", Lombardo said.

Attorney Matt Lombard is working with Danley, according to Lori Stanton with Lombard Law. During that trip, he highlighted Puerto Rico's relatively low death toll compared with "a real catastrophe like Katrina", when as many as 1,800 people died in 2005 as levees protecting New Orleans broke. The devices essentially allow legal rifles to serve as automatic weapons, which are largely illegal in the United States. Majority are suicides, but mass shootings occur at regular intervals. He killed himself as police closed in.

Rabadi also said such tools are often used by sportsmen who want to modify their weapons for activities like target practice.

But those rifles were far from the gunman's only weapons.

He said: "The initial gun shots were machine gun fire".

The sisters, who spoke to Channel Seven on Wednesday evening on the condition of anonymity, said Ms Danley, was sent to the Philippines by Paddock, in the weeks before the deadly massacre so she did not interfere with his plans.
