Guillermo del Toro creating a horror anthology series for Netflix

Guillermo del Toro books ‘10 After Midnight’ horror series at Netflix

A horror anthology series will be coming to Netflix by way of Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro.

Called 10 Past Midnight, del Toro is set to write and direct select episodes of his 10-episode anthology series while he will choose who will head up the other ones. How fantastic is it that we live in a world where we're getting a horror anthology series from Guillermo del Toro and a new Twilight Zone series from Jordan Peele? I suspect this will be pitched at a slightly older audience, though.

About Netflix Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) is the world's leading internet entertainment service with 125 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 140 million hours of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films. Meanwhile, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss' new dating competition series The Proposal will debut Monday, June 18 at 10 pm.

There is now no set episode count or premiere date. For 10 After Midnight, he will re-team with his Shape of Water producer J. Miles Dale, who will serve as an executive producer along with Gary Ungar. That show will return for its third and final season May 25.

In the meantime: ya think del Toro will do a Lovecraftian episode? His big-screen credits also include Pan's Labyrinth, the Hellboy franchise, Blade II and Pacific Rim.

As the series was just announced, there's no real idea for when this will drop, but the idea of a horror show curated by Guillermo del Toro-complete with a few episodes done by del Toro himself-is delightful.
