Guess Inc. forms committee to probe sexual misconduct allegations against co-founder

Model Kate Upton took her accusations of sexual misconduct against Guess co-founder Paul Marciano to "GMA" after being afraid to come forward for several years.

The model and actress said she was empowered to tell her story after speaking to a group of models embarking on their first-ever fashion week during this week's NYFW.

He said: "I fully support the #metoo movement. I constantly blamed myself after it happened: What am I doing to invite someone to treat me like that or grab me like that?" "I was extremely shaken, surprised and scared".

'I remember not wanting to say: "Get off of me" because I didn't want to open my mouth to say anything because I didn't want him to be able to put his tongue in my mouth. "Do everything I could to wiggle away and avoid his pursuit, or punch the CEO of Guess. So I chose to just wiggle away".

The 28-year-old model claims she met the Guess co-founder in late 2012 and he set up a test shoot for her, staging the setting to look like one which had been used by the late Anna Nicole Smith, who he had compared her to.

She stopped communicating with him previous year.

She told The Blast: "He forced himself on me". Someone had called her manager claiming she was fat.

Former Guess model Hailey Baldwin told People that she supports Upton. Upton says after she rejected Marciano she was sacked.

"Honestly, I think that it would be so nice to see big corporations and businesses doing this on their own, having investigations and looking into their offices on their own without victims needing to come forward".

The Sports Illustrated model's charges against Marciano, first made in a January 31 tweet, has prompted at least two other models to come forward with their own stories about him, as well as another model to make allegations against another prominent man in Marciano's circles. "Mr. Marciano also denies this allegation". Von Unwerth told Time she doesn't recall the incident.

Upton said Marciano grabbed her breasts and said he was "making sure they're real".

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in early February, the company denied any misconduct on the part of Marciano, but said it would investigate Upton's concerns if it determines they had merit.

"I was going back and forth about sharing this story, because it's always easier to leave things in the past", she said.

On Friday, the Sports Illustrated cover girl stopped by "Good Morning America" to talk about her story involving Marciano.

Shannon claims he began "caressing my breasts and grabbing my crotch and walked me over to my bed and laid me on my stomach". He then attempted to kiss her. "I have never been alone with Kate Upton", he continued. "I was so relieved and felt like I had barely escaped", she said.

All of this sounds reminiscent of the behavior of disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein, i.e. the forceful invitations to spend time alone, the mention of other successful women he'd supposedly slept with.
