Grammys 2019: Cardi B Performs At The 2019 Grammys

Cardi B first solo woman to win rap album Grammy

Cardi B thanked Mac Miller after she took home the Grammy for best rap album during Sunday night's ceremony.

Her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller tragically died a year ago from an accidental overdose.

She thanked him in her acceptance speech, as well as their seven-month-old daughter, Kulture.

"I can't breathe. Oh, my goodness, child", she said as she fought back tears.

Grande seemed to hit out at Grammy producers once more when responding to a fan in another deleted tweet that read: 'THEY INVITED HIS PARENTS OUT. NO'. "Trash", she continued, and "literal bulls-". "I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will", she wrote.

Cardi's debut Invasion of Privacy beat out albums by the late Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, Pusha T and Travis Scott.

Many fans took this to be about Cardi B personally, and you'd be forgiven for thinking so, too - but that's not the case.

Miller had been nominated, and Grande had clearly been holding out for a posthumous honour.

"F-", she tweeted, as Cardi B was announced the victor. Grande and Miller dated for two years before they announced their split in May. Childish Gambino, despite not attending the show, won both Record and Song of the Year for "This Is America", the first ever rap song to win either of those awards.

Though he did not win, Miller was honored during the In Memoriam segment of the show.

Following an opening from a pianist, Cardi emerged in a sparkly black jumpsuit while strutting her stuff like a showgirl.
