From Software reveal George R.R. Martin's Elden Ring

Going by the trailer it looks like the Elden Ring has been destroyed and with it the world has fallen into chaos, with it bringing destruction to the world.

The second to offer a comment is Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, who helped build the world of the game.

At Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference, Bandai Namco presented the official E3 2019 trailer for FromSoftware's upcoming game, Elden Ring.

I am excited to see what FromSoft do next even just in terms of fisticuffs.

"Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration", Miyazaki said in today's announcement.

One of the biggest differences between Elden Ring and From Software's previous games is its open-world nature, according to Miyazaki.

As development progressed, the title became a "dark fantasy action RPG" featuring various elements that From Software was not able to achieve with the Dark Souls franchise. That said, Elden Ring has likely taken a back seat to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice up until now, so it's unlikely that we'll see a gameplay demo any time soon. What year is this? Given that Elden Ring is from the studio that gave us Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro, you can probably already form a mental picture of what this looks like. Is George R.R. Martin aware of how hard he is messing with us at this point or is this the fantasy author equivalent of Mr. Magoo?

Boss fights will factor into Elden Ring; they will be varied in nature, while the actual bosses you fight will be "horrifying", according to Miyazaki.

Miyakazi also calls out some of the environments we may find in Elden Ring's big open field.
