Former News Anchor Says Kevin Spacey Sexually Assaulted Her Son in 2016
Nov 09 2017
Heather Unruh, a former anchor at television station WCVB, told reporters Wednesday that Spacey bought her "starstruck" then 18-year-old son "drink after drink after drink" at a crowded restaurant in Nantucket, Massachusetts, in July 2016, and then "stuck his hand inside my son's trousers and grabbed his genitals".
Netlfix has pulled the plug on their hit show "House of Cards" amid allegations its star Kevin Spacey made sexual advances toward actor Anthony Rapp when he was only 14 years old. She told him to run, and he did.
Mitchell Garabedian, Unruh's son's lawyer, attended the news conference and said Spacey was within the statute of limitations for both civil and criminal claims. "And one way to stop it is for courageous victims and their families to speak out so that children are safe, other victims are empowered and the victims themselves are emboldened".
It's true that there's great value in profiling complex and unethical people and-at their best-these profiles can encourage empathy (not always sympathy, mind you) and a better understanding of the capabilities and failings of the human character.
"I want to see Kevin Spacey have the hand of justice come down on him, not just for my son but for the many others who have yet to speak their truth".
At a press briefing, Unruh outlined how the boy met Spacey late at night at the Club Car restaurant. "That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention away from what you really are: a sexual predator".
The teenager had lied to Mr Spacey about his age, she said, but "whether he was over 21 or not, Kevin Spacey had no right to sexually assault him". Spacey apologized in an October 29 tweet - his last - but also said he had no memory of the alleged encounter.
In response to earlier allegations, Spacey's representatives have said: "Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment". According to British media, London police are also investigating him for an alleged assault in 2008.
"The #weinsteinscandal has emboldened me- #truth time".
Actor Anthony Rapp has revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed, that he was sexually harassed by two-time Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey. "Time the dominoes fell", she wrote.
In response, the Los Gatos-based streaming service cut ties with Spacey, who starred in and executive produced the show for six seasons.
