Quique Sanchez Flores has said no to the chance of a Premier League return

The former Watford boss was reported to be the leading candidate to take over from Mark Hughes at the Bet365 Stadium with Derby boss Gary Rowett signing a new contract to stay at Pride Park.

Flores explained his decision during a press conference for Espaynol today.

'I am and will be the manager of Espanyol, ' he said. I have a contract and I'm honest with this club.

Espanyol manager Quique Sanchez Flores has ended rumors linking him to the vacant Stoke City job, announcing that he will still be Espanyol head coach come the end of the season.

"It happened three weeks ago with Gerard Moreno, but we have to think that we are happy with Espanyol".

"We like the connection (with the club), how they treat us, I like that Espanyol are growing".

"I live in a big city, in one of the best leagues, and I have reason to be happy and not to live anxious".

According to the Telegraph, the Potters have officially offered O'Neill and his assistant Roy Keane a return to Premier League management.

Stoke sacked Hughes last Saturday after a 2-1 FA Cup defeat at League Two Coventry and a run of seven losses in 10 Premier League games. "Keane will nearly certainly join O'Neill at the Bet365 Stadium if Stoke can agree terms with them".

Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neill is now the bookmakers' favourite.
