Final Fantasy XV's Noctis is joining Tekken 7

The Tekken 7 World Tour Finals took place on November 12, with Tekken teasing a surprise announcement at 10:30 p.m. ET.

The protagonist of Final Fantasy XV, Noctis Lucis Caelum, is coming to Tekken 7. Introduced in a 4-minute trailer, Noctis receives a call from TEKKEN's Lars and agrees to help him with a mission.

Although the video shows some fishing action, it's probably safe to say this won't actually be part of your Tekken matches in the future.

The character will be available for you to download sometime in Spring 2018.

Hot on the heels of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guest starring in Injustice 2 comes the news that Noctis, star of Final Fantasy 15, is coming to Tekken 7. We're not going to spoil the story here, but it gets unexpectedly amusing. For example, there is also FF15 content in Assassin's Creed Origins, just giving them more ways to enjoy and appreciate Square Enix's RPG no matter what they're playing. If you didn't know better, you'd think that someone is trying to turn Tekken 7 into a slightly more somber version of Super Smash Bros.

Tekken 7 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The biggest story here isn't necessarily the addition of Noctis - though he is certainly welcome - but rather that Noctis is not the first character from another franchise to join the Tekken roster.
