Far Cry 5's new trailer shows off an expanded co-op mode

That's why the developers of Far Cry 5 have designed the entire campaign to support co-op play.

Far Cry 5's online mode will be much more inclusive than we previously imagined after the "Friends For Hire" mode was shown off today during Sony's PlayStation press conference at Paris Games Week. You also couldn't play campaign missions.

Build your character and choose your adventure in the largest customizable Far Cry game ever!

Play your way against Joseph Seed and his fanatical followers in a dynamic open world that adapts and reacts to the choices you make. At the end of the trailer, we get some shots showing real gameplay of what you can actually expect in the game.

There are some caveats, however, as only the host will get to keep the world progression, such as story missions, while the co-op partner will retain player progression, letting them keep any perks, money, guns and other unlocks toward their own game.

In addition to the "Friends for Hire" feature, the host player can still recruit "Guns for Hire" and "Fangs for Hire" giving players and advantage during the game.

On Far Cry 4, we kind of sequestered the player to the open world. Unlike Far Cry 5's co-op mode items earned in co-op, mode was saved in co-op mode, not the single player game.

Far Cry 5 will be available February 27, 2018 on PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and Windows PC.
