Donald Trump's state visit begins with 41-gun salute

The Queen gave First Lady Melania Trump a "specially commissioned silver box" with a "handcrafted enamel lid" that was created to match the ceiling of Buckingham Palace's music room, the network reported, citing the palace. A short time later, the president traveled to Buckingham Palace and was introduced to the queen and members of the royal household.
Trump also said that Khan had been foolishly nasty to him as "by far the most important ally" of the U.K. In a second tweet, Trump went on to compare Khan to New York's Mayor Bill de Blasio, who he called incompetent.
But before he had even landed, Mr Trump had begun to make his mark, labelling Mr Khan a "stone cold loser" on Twitter minutes before his arrival.
As Trump's behavior so far suggests, the president, his family and friends will be aware of the volume of rules they are supposed to follow during their time at Buckingham Palace. Millions across the country are expected to protest; here's how to get stuck in, in the capital.
The US President added that Mr Khan should instead be focussed on crime in London, and reminded him of the "very dumb and incompetent" Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, who has "also done a awful job".
Labour's Khan has led opposition to the three-day visit, writing a newspaper article on Sunday in which he compared the U.S. leader to European dictators from the 1930s and 1940s. Khan's intervention caused Trump to challenge Khan to an IQ test.
The Unknown Warrior was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour by the United States the following year, the medal was on display today for the President to inspect.
Then, for his formal arrival at the palace, his moment of pomp and ceremony was heralded by the roar of Marine One's engine as he became the first U.S. president to arrive for his state visit by helicopter on the back lawn of Buckingham Palace.
Other protesters plan a "carnival of resistance" in central London and Jeremy Corbyn, the socialist leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party who declined an invitation to attend the state banquet, will speak at the demonstration.
Trump's United Kingdom visit is part of the first leg of a largely ceremonial trip that will include commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day during a ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery in France.
Trump waded into diplomatic complications on the touchy subject of Britain's divorce from the European Union.
Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, said however that it was simply an odd camera angle and that it was just a robust handshake.
Three years after the referendum vote for Brexit, Britain remains divided.
"Led By Donkeys" continued with a third projection "welcoming" the President to London.
The state visit was promised by Prime Minister May back in January 2017 when she became the first foreign leader to meet Trump after he took office.
"They want to meet. We'll see what happens".
Both the Stop Trump Coalition and Stand Up to Trump protest groups said they would be present. Usually, the official welcome takes place at Horse Guards Parade before a carriage procession down the Mall but security concerns have led to the change for the Trump visit.
