Destiny 2 Reaches over 1.2 Million Concurrent Players Online

Destiny 2 now has 1.2 million concurrent players online

If you're not playing a major release then you'll feel like you're missing out on something bigger than just a game, as you're also missing out on all of the conversation that surrounds it. Bungie revealed on their official Twitter that the game has hit 1.2 million concurrent players. Did any of you jump on to Destiny 2 last week during launch? Activision Blizzard previously said that the Destiny 2 beta was ahead of the original title and said the game was scheduled to beat expectations. However, it seems as if the physical sales for the game during its first week of availability in the United Kingdom are much less than those from the release of the original entry in Bungie's science fiction shooter series back in 2014. There are a few factors in this situation. This is slightly higher than the original Destiny which was even closer at around 51% to 49% across both PS3/PS4 and Xbox 360/Xbox One. Sales are 58 percent lower than in 2014.

Like other sequels though, it represents a downward trend in sales. The PC version is still to arrive in October, and it is expected to prompt a spike in number of online players for the game.

We knew that Destiny 2's opening weekend was going to be huge, and now we know just how huge! There's now no way to check how many players are anticipating that version and simply waiting it out.

We're aware that some Destiny 2 users have seen crash issues on PS4 Pro.
