Cincinnati ranked one of the best places to celebrate Independence Day

Tuesday, July 4, 1 p.m. - A real local favorite, thousands of people come out for the Horton Bay parade that is known to have humorous themes.

Metro advises passengers to avoid transfers by walking to the nearest station on the same line as their destination.Several Metrobus routes will detour around the Mall, especially during the parade. Naturally, picking the best place to see fireworks on the Fourth of July is the most important choice facing Americans each Independence Day.

The village will hold its fireworks display at dusk Sunday, July 4, on the northwest corner of Oconomowoc Lake, with a rain date scheduled for the following day. Fireworks at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Steamboat Springs; steamboatchamber.com.

There should be plenty to do if you are wanting to celebrate Independence Day this year in our region.

Lago Vista Fourth of July Celebration's stellar fireworks display begins at "dark thirty" and wraps up a day of food of family-friendly games at the Lago Vista Golf Club. The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra will play live music; patriotic birthday cake will be provided, and the event will culminate in a fireworks display over the waterfront. The park will be open for normal operating hours and fees, but beginning at 5 p.m., the normal entrance fees will switch to $15 per auto. 768-4210 or www.milb.com.

Wallace Bullock and his pyrotechnics crew have again volunteered their considerable time and effort for another great fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day. The fireworks celebration will begin at 9:45 p.m. each night after the park closes. It will feature a July 4 parade at 2:30 p.m., a carnival, food court and music starting at 5 p.m., and fireworks after dark, according to officials.

R.J. Corman Railroad Group will have their annual Fourth of July fireworks show at the Corman House in Nicholasville at 10 pm.

McLean Independence Day. 6:30 p.m.at Churchill Road Elementary School, 7100 Churchill Road, McLean.

Oaks Amusement Park will keep its rides running until midnight, with fireworks around 9:40 p.m. Gates open at 10 a.m. Admission: $3-$6, plus ride tickets.

Perry Township Park - Saturday, July 8, Perry Park, East Liberty; auto, truck, motorcycle, Rat Rod and tractor show registration, 11 a.m.; parade at noon; fireworks display with music at dusk.

Larosa's Balloon Glow at Coney Island - Spend the day enjoying Sunlite pool, live music, family entertainment and classic rides.

Remember it's against the law to shoot off fireworks in the city limits, but if you're out of town and plan to use them, keep a bucket of water or a hose available in case of a fire.

He said the 3rd annual City Celebration will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on September 2 on the north side of John Kassen Field, 805 S. Lee St., and will feature food trucks and a live band.

Registration for the annual Pedals and Paws Patriot Parade begins at 9:30 a.m., with the wheeled conveyance race leaving at 10 a.m., followed by the pet portion at 11 a.m.

Havelock - Fun begins at 5:00 p.m., July 4th, at the city park. The parade line up will be on Market Street and the parade will begin at Dairy Queen.
