A man is behind bars facing murder charges and three children are dead after a report of domestic violence in a WestSacramento apartment. But all three children were later pronounced dead, Kinney said. First responders were then dispatched to the home, and although they attempted life-savings measures on the children, it was too late.
Aiello says the couple had been married more than a dozen years and had an 11-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and another boy, born in January.
They issued a lookout alert for the woman's husband, 33-year-old Robert Hodges, who they described as a suspect. Hodges was arrested and has since been booked into the Yolo County Jail.
Roger Kinney says investigators have not determined if Hodges was the children's father.
Kinney says neighbors called 911 to report a domestic violence incident involving Hodges and his wife and that as officers were en route, a second call came in reporting the killings.
"Obviously, she's traumatized, and it's going to take some time to find out what's going on", he said.
Police have not released the ages or genders of the children or disclosed how the children died. She said there were no signs of trouble or fighting before Wednesday night. She is viewed as a casualty of aggressive behavior at home, police said.
He says the mother witnessed Hodges kill her children, and that she was a victim of domestic violence. The suspect fled the apartment shortly before the police arrived.
