Chelsea 'sack manager Antonio Conte' - Sky Italia - Premier League 2018
Jul 12 2018
This remains a problem for all four parties involved. Why?
Antonio Conte was finally sacked as Chelsea manger today in what was perhaps the least surprising news since Donald Trump announced he was coming to Britain and, in response, Britain made a decision to construct a giant inflatable orange baby to fly over his head whilst he was traipsing around pretending to look important.
The Telegraph is reporting that Chelsea are going to pay £50 million to take Sarri and midfielder Jorginho to Stamford Bridge.
"However, if for personal reasons I won't get into, the player prefers to live in London rather than in Manchester, I can understand him".
De Laurentiis indicated that Chelsea have also offered better contractual terms to Jorginho than Manchester City.
Antonio Conte is expected to return to Chelsea to take first-team training on Monday despite uncertainty over his future at the club.
The news brings to a close nearly a year's worth of rumors that began shortly after Conte won the Premier League title with the club in his first season, leading them to a then-record 30 wins in the process.
City feel hugely let down by Napoli because they understood they had agreed an outline deal with the Serie A club 15 days ago for Jorginho's £48.7million transfer.
But who will Sarri target this summer? This has ignited interest from Chelsea who is keen to sign a solid midfielder who can strengthen their base and the West London club are trying to hijack a deal from their rivals.
However, they finished fifth in the 2017/18 season, missing out on a place in the Champions League and consequently costing Conte is job.
But De Laurentiis has suggested that talks are now close to bearing fruit regarding an agreement for Sarri to be appointed by Chelsea.
