Camila Cabello Debuts 'Never Be The Same' on 'Fallon'

The last song by a solo female artist in a lead role to reach that particular milestone was Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" in 2013.

Amusing thing, though. As she worked on the album previous year, buoyed by the success of her collaborations "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly and then "Havana" with Young Thug, the questions didn't seem important any more. I was just like, 'What?

"I just love that attitude, there's a vibrance here that makes me feel good".

With a stage drop heard 'round the world, remaining 5H members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui began their choreographed performance by tossing a shadowed fifth member (who looked JUST like Camila, btw) off of the stage and into the depths below. I mean, sure, her exit from the group was rough, but DANG.

With all the great things happening in her life, it's time to move on.

The "Crying in the Club" songstress revealed that her collaboration with Shawn Mendes - the hit song "I Know What You Did Last Summer" - was what first caused tension between her and the rest of the girls. Her decision to leave was based on her feeling that, as she tells the Times, "if anyone wants to explore their individuality, it's not right for people to tell you no".

At first she wanted to stay in the group while making a solo record, but she was shut out by the other four members.

Cabello is doing more than fine without her former bandmates.

On January 8th's episode of Beats 1 with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music, Elton John mentioned Camila while talking about his "tips" for in 2018 with Matt. "And obviously, Blake Lively is a queen". Both she and her exes have enjoyed a level of fame not always commensurate with their actual chart successes, and three of the songs that Cabello put out as radio or promo singles in 2017 (including the tune that was pegged as her debutant anthem, "Crying in the Club") were received so tepidly that they didn't even make the cut for "Camila". "But I just wasn't expecting for them to be there and I just got kind of weird, I was like, 'Why are you so weird, stop being weird'".
