Former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick is skewering a lawsuit filed by a former ally, describing it as a malicious attempt to sever his remaining ties to the widely used ride-hailing service that he co-founded. Following a back-and-forth with regulators, Uber has temporarily shuttered its operations in the Philippines. "Arcade City is recruiting and activating drivers same-day all across the Philippines to provide service in the gap left by Uber's abrupt withdrawal yesterday (Tuesday), which put 66,000 drivers out of a job and stranded tens of thousands of riders", it said on Facebook.
