Hurricane Matthew grows to Category 2 storm

Matthew became a tropical storm Wednesday and as of this afternoon, was moving west into the warm Caribbean Sea at 17 miles per hour, according to the Hurricane Center. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 195 miles. "Widespread rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches can be expected across Jamaica, Haiti and eastern Cuba", AccuWeather Meteorologist Rob Miller said.
