Fed's Dennis Lockhart: 'Serious discussion' of interest-rate hike needed

He added in later comments to reporters that there was no "urgency" to act at any particular meeting as the Fed debates whether its current ultra-low interest rate remains appropriate for an economy that is "chugging along". Lockhart said in a morning address at the National Association of Business Economists. The benchmark federal funds rate has been held in a target range of 0.25 percent to 0.5 percent since a hike in December that was the first increase in almost a decade.

HP Buys Samsung Printer Business for $1.05 Billion

The acquisition of Samsung's printer business will see HP gain a compelling intellectual property portfolio of more than 6,500 printing patents, in addition to a workforce that includes almost 1,300 researchers and engineers. The deal is being marked as the largest print acquisition in HP's history, and is expected to accelerate growth opportunities in the copier segment. HP Inc is now restructuring its activities including cutting about 3,000 jobs.

The most important improvement is to the cars' Autopilot system, which will switch the primary sensor systems from the onboard camera to radar. Tesla's Autopilot system can maintain a set speed, keep the auto within its lane and brake automatically.
