Sherwin-Williams acquires Valspar for $11.3 billion

The $27 billion Sherwin-Williams, based in Cleveland, Oh., said Sunday that it has agreed to buy the Minneapolis company for $113 a share, which represents a 35% premium over the company's closing price Friday. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of the first quarter of 2017. The boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved the deal.
