Build-A-Bear was forced to shut the event down early. Several stores around the country closed shop before even opening because of safety concerns.

For anyone who would like to take part in paying for a brand new Build-A-Bear based on their child's age, he or she will need to enter the Count Your Candles Sweepstakes to be one of the lucky ticket holders to attend the event.

Pay your age is back at Build A Bear workshop.

The company is bringing back the Pay Your Age promotion, which allows customers to pay their age for a stuffed animal up to $29. But the company is limiting how many tickets and timing. Plus, it's nice to know that in an era of tablets, GoPros and other electronics, kids still love stuffed animals!

Build-A-Bear plans to award tickets to 200,000 customers across the globe. The offer is limited to two people per ticket.

Before you get too discouraged, however, Build-A-Bear is planning to name 200,000 sweepstakes winners, so there's still a chance that you and your little one could be among the special customers who get to attend the much less crowded event this year. So, you have two-year-old child, and you pay £2 for one of the teddies.

Here's how it works: Now through Sunday, June 16, members of the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club rewards program that complete a birthday profile in their online account can enter the Count Your Candles Sweepstakes and Pay Your Age limited ticket offer.
