Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier Nearly Come to Blows at UFC 226


You may or may not agree with placing Daniel Cormier in the conversations among the greatest of all time in the UFC, but after what took place on Saturday night at UFC 226, he has certainly earned the recognition.

Daniel Cormier shocked the mixed martial arts world tonight in Las Vegas by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the very first-round to claim the UFC's coveted heavyweight title. The only other fighter to do so is Conor McGregor, who has since been stripped of both belts. Dillashaw for the most wins in the history of the UFC's bantamweight division. He's a wrestler. He's an All-American.

Former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis also submitted Michael Chiesa in the second round with a triangle armbar from a bottom position.

It's expected that Daniel Cormier (21-1-1) vs. Brock Lesnar (5-3-1) for the heavyweight title will headline UFC's return to Madison Square Garden this November. Lesnar entered the Octagon, shoved Cormier and quickly provided an answer.

"It's the same, man, these guys are all the same", Cormier said "I approach them all the same way".

Brock Lesnar is officially back in the UFC and he's getting a heavyweight title shot.
