EA is once again separating itself from the crowd by holding its own EA Play event at the Hollywood Palladium ahead of E3 2018. It was full of announcements, reveals, in-depth looks, and a few surprises. Kicking off the event this year is Electronic Arts, as they launch the event with their press conference on Saturday June 9. Movement enhancements, moveable defense emplacements, character customisation and the news that destructibility is making a big return are all key talking points.
Following in the footsteps of two of the most popular PC games of the moment, Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, the new Battlefield game will include a "battle royale" mode (last man standing) on a World War II battlefield.
There's a new Command & Conquer game coming - but it's for mobile. Vehicles can drive through and fully collapse buildings, which can shake up strategies. It's safe to say that the fans just didn't feel that connection with EA's conference, and that lack of connection has been building for years now.
What's more, it seems microtransactions and premium passes are not going to be included. All maps will be free and the game will be available in full with purchase. Players will also be able to travel to France and Norway.
Until now, the tournament has appeared in rival football game series Pro Evolution Soccer, but that partnership ended earlier this year. Unfortunately, there is no PvP gameplay announced at this time.
We previously revealed that Unravel 2 is set to be released. Despite this, we have modified this excellent Reddit post to reflect the times and dates that the events will take place in South African standard time. It will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Sitting there, watching the presentation felt more like watching a legitimate science fiction movie, rather than just watching someone else play a game. EA released the Sea of Solitude trailer too, about a lonely girl's adventure, as reproduced below. Whether plunder, revenge, or glory lures you onward, your choices will irrevocably change you - and the world around you. This will be a dark toned game that takes on strong topics such as loneliness and sadness. It will also see a revamp that will be revealed during this Summer. Not quite like an MMO game or a Multiplayer game, but a deeper shared world.
EA unveiled a brand new game during today's EA Play 2018 live stream.
We then got trailers for National Basketball Association 19 available September 7th and for Madden 19 available August 7th. However, the website did list the bonuses or perks gamers would receive if they pre-order the special edition. A Hall of Fame edition will also be released, with Terrell Owens on the cover.
