Sources added that her parents were trying to contact her on mobile phone but their calls went unanswered.
The mother of the Bhojpuri actress says her daughter couldn't have committed suicide. Her mother, however, said that Anjali would not commit suicide.
The police have registered an accidental death report as of now, and are conducting inquiries to check if there are grounds to register an abetment to suicide case against anyone. They intimated her landlord who visited her on Monday and opened the apartment using a spare key. Anjali had told her she was perfectly happy and that everything was well with her. Srivastava hadn't responded to calls and messages from family members from Sunday, after which they informed the police, who later found the body of the actress on Monday.
Last week, Kritika Chaudhary, another aspiring actress was found dead and the post-mortem report revealed that she was murdered. No suicide notes have been recovered to confirm the alleged suicide.
On entering the house, the police allegedly found Anjali's dead body hanging to a ceiling fan with a saree.
DCP Rashmi Karandikar, Mumbai Police spokesperson told Hindustan Times, "She lived in Parimal society in Juhu Lane in Andheri west". Her body has been sent for an autopsy to R. N. Cooper Hospital.
Srivastava had worked in several Bhojpuri films and had recently completed the shooting for Kehu Ta Dil Mein Ba.
