San Diego starter Luis Perdomo threw behind Nolan Arenado, leading to Arenado charging the mound, Perdomo throwing his glove at Arenado, and all hell breaking loose. The Rockies head east to take on the Washington Nationals beginning on Thursday night in a four-game series. Margot had to visit the hospital because of the injury he sustained.

Some baseball men got very angry at each other during the Rockies' matchup with the Padres at Coors Field on Wednesday.

The feud carried over to the series finale, when Rockies shortstop Trevor Story was hit in the first inning by Perdomo and Padres right fielder Hunter Renfroe was plunked by Marquez in the second. Things blew up in the third. And then Perdomo threw at Arenado in the bottom of the third. So were Padres catcher A.J. A bench-clearing brawl quickly ensued that would see two Padres, the battery of AJ Ellis and Perdomo, and three Rockies ejected: Arenado, German Marquez, and Gerardo Parra.

Once order was finally restored, the umpires met for several minutes before ejecting Perdomo, Ellis, Arenado, Marquez and Parra.

The Rockies, who are off to an uninspiring 5-7 start, promptly scored the first run of the game when Carlos Gonzalez singled home Ian Desmond.

"I don't know how long - hopefully it's not a long time - but I expect something to be happening", Arenado said.

The Rockies and Padres have traded hit batters in recent days.
