German professional League club Bayern Munich have confirmed that France worldwide Benjamin Pavard will be joining them from July 1, 2019.

"I can confirm that the player will be joining the team on the 1st of July", Calciomercato quoted Salihamidzic as saying.

Capable of playing at right-back or in central defence, Pavard began his career at Lille and helped France win the 2018 World Cup.

Pavard, 22, has signed a five-year deal with the record German champions, as announced by the club's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic at Bayern's winter training camp in Doha.

"He is a very interesting player whom we really want to sign", Salihamidzic added of the 18-year-old.

They are second in the Bundesliga, six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, and face Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League.

He has featured 14 times for a struggling Stuttgart this season, with the club now 16th in the Bundesliga table.

As revealed by Goal, the Bavarians have made a fourth bid of £35m ($45m) for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, offering him the No.10 shirt in an attempt to convince him to move to Germany.
