Arsenal boss Wenger 'not super optimistic' about Alexis deal

Arsenal are willing to risk letting Sanchez walk on a free transfer as he can enter talks with other clubs from the start of January.

Sanchez is out of contract at the end of 2017-18 and has been linked with French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League rivals Manchester City, but Arsenal insist the 28-year-old will not be sold.

ARSENAL star Alexis Sanchez is now in France as he enters talks with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

Neymar's £198m move to PSG appeared to have ended their interest in Sanchez, but the French side's relentless spending shows no signs of slowing.

Journalist Nicolas Hortus revealed the Chilean global spent the night in Paris as he looks for a move to a Champions League club. "The biggest worry is Manchester City and that's the problem".

"If he goes to PSG he's out of sight, out of mind".

It's little wonder some of Europe's elite might look to poach the Chile worldwide after Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League last season.

"However, it's the Man City situation that's the concern and we've seen it all before with Robin van Persie's move to Manchester United".

But manager Arsene Wenger is still uncertain as to whether the salary increase will be enough to extend Sanchez's deal. It's not like they are going to sell him for £50m and take £200 of everybody's season tickets because we've sold our best player.

Some sections of the Arsenal support may feel more signings are needed entering the final phases of this summer's transfer window, but Mahrez seemingly won't be one of those arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
