APPLE will live stream its iPhone launch event on Twitter for the first time, as the technology giant prepares to unveil its latest flagship smartphone. It also brought the iPhone into a new price bracket: $999.
With a 5.8-inch screen, it will be an advanced version of the iPhone X, which was launched in September, 2017.
The new iPhone line-up will reportedly feature a refreshed version of the iPhone X - first introduced past year, alongside a larger-screen device and a cheaper iPhone that will also feature the iPhone X's all-screen front panel and Face ID technology. New features include grouped notifications, a fresh set of animojis and "digital health" features that let users track how much they use their phones everyday. While these leaked pricing in the USA does not suggest any major changes, the story could be completely different in India. It is expected that there will be three iPhones that the company will launch.
Kuo's research focuses on Asian technology companies that sell parts and manufacturing services to Apple and other big American tech companies. Currently, popular attention in India is on the value of the rupee to the dollar. We'll send a reminder before the #AppleEvent on September 12. The iPhone XR will be Apple's affordable iPhone this year with an LCD display and bright new colours.
The same design will be scaled up to 6.5 for the iPhone Xs Max. Four years later, the dollar is now equivalent to more than Rs 72.
But in India, the global prices are no indication for the local prices.
The sequel to the last year's iPhone X is likely to be the iPhone XS with a 5.8-inch OLED screen and its price could be $899. The pricing were based on then import duty of 15 percent on fully built iPhone models and dollar was trading at Rs 65.
Apple may or may not reveal the new laptop Wednesday, when it is holding a press event on its campus in Cupertino, California.
The iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max could be priced around Rs 85,500 and Rs 1,05,000 in India.
Last year, it was the iPhone's 10-year anniversary, and fans were expecting a reinvention of the device. For instance, at the time of the launch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the dollar was trading at Rs 61.
However, there are reports that Apple might push the launch of AR devices to next year so this might just be a grey area. In India, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were expensive by Rs 8,500 and Rs 9,500, respectively. "Apple took them down immediately after we published". Perhaps Apple will soon learn that YouTube is also a great place to stream live events and attract even more eyeballs.
