Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that the Speaker of the House is "outright disrespectful" and that she is singling out women of color for criticism.

"It shows you how weak their argument is when they have to resort and direct racist accusations toward Speaker Pelosi.it's very disappointing to me", Clay said, The Hill reported.

Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan, a co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive caucus, said on Thursday that he and Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal, another co-chair, are setting up a meeting with Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.; Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass.; and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. "But they didn't have any following".

In an extraordinary duel that underscored the political heat emitted by Trump's hard-line immigration policies, four lawmakers from each party who've visited the U.S. -Mexico boundary testified to the House Oversight and Reform Committee about what they've seen and came to starkly different conclusions.

Ocasio-Cortez told Powell at the hearing that the theory "is no longer describing what is happening in today's economy", and Powell agreed. "And wielding the power to shift it is how we actually achieve meaningful change in this country".

Still, Ocasio-Cortez's words leave the impression that the disagreements are beginning to lead to poor optics: the leader of the establishment being "outright disrespectful" to neophyte women of color from working-class backgrounds trying to challenge the status quo.

"When it comes to women of color in Congress, particularly the freshman, it's that we both have encountered and represent communities that have been auctioned off and negotiated off for the last 20 years".

Some New York Democrats voiced their support for Ocasio-Cortez.

The House speaker declined to elaborate but confirmed she recently talked about an "offensive tweet" at the request of her caucus members. The tweet was authored and later deleted by Ocasio-Cortez' chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti, according to Fox.

Trump, who has had more than his own share of run-ins with Pelosi, came to her defense. "I addressed that. How they're interpreting and carrying it to another place is up to them, but I'm not going to be discussing it any further".

"You got a complaint?" "We're not talking just about progressives, it's singling out four individuals and knowing the media environment we're operating in knowing the amount of death threats we get, knowing the amount of concentration of attention, I think it's worth asking why". I can handle it. "I am anxious about the signal that it sends to people I speak to and for, who sent me here with a mandate, and how it affects them". But I do think if we don't have progress on racial justice it will be because of the new Dems and blue dogs. "Regrets is not what I do". In part because the members of the so-called Squad may be so enamored of their celebrity that they continue to mistake it for genuine power.

During the interview, Harris also was pressed about her widely-praised confrontation with former Vice President Joe Biden at last month's Democratic primary debate, during which the California Democrat called him out over his decades-old fight against busing to desegregate schools and comments about his ability to be civil and work with segregationist senators.
