An #Amber alert was issued for the little girl on Saturday and is still active.

According to an arrest affidavit, her father, Wesley Matthews, 37, forced the girl to stand outside next to a tree at around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Mathews told investigators that he went back to the tree, which is about 100 feet from the family's home, about 15 minutes later and realized Sherin was gone. Now police say the girl's punishment may have started as a disciplinary action for not drinking her milk.

Officers from the Richardson Police Department have sent out a Child Abduction Alert and are searching for 3-year-old, Sherin Mathews. Matthews' bond is set at $250,000.

Wesley Mathews told police that coyotes had been spotted in the alley where he left his daughter. "They loved Sherin very much", he said.

Sherin Mathews was last seen around 3 a.m. Saturday.

As indicated by a Facebook post, she was most recently seen by her dad outside the family's terrace.

Police said Mathews didn't contact authorities until hours later. She was last seen wearing pink flip-flops and a pink top, as well as black pajama bottoms. Her father has been arrested and charged with child endangerment.

Sherin is about 22 pounds and was wearing a pink shirt and black pajama trousers when she was last seen. Her hair was described as being in two long braids. He said, "God will reward you".
