Discover card users are also spoiled during the holiday season, and any purchase they make from Amazon will include a five percent cash back. These sales will feature top gifts such as electronics, toys, clothing, jewelry, kitchen items, and more.
Not everyone is embracing an early holiday shopping frenzy. Starting today (November 1), the online retailer has debuted its Black Friday store front with deals set to last from now until December 22.
It also updated its app to allow users to search for an item using their phone's camera when they see an item they are interested in while browsing in a physical store.
Amazon Prime members will get exclusive Alexa deals via their Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap, Amazon Fire TV, and Fire tablet.
Don't expect numerous big ticket deals that headline actual Black Friday sales, though for those looking to get some items off their holiday wish lists you may find decent deals. Before, customers had to scan barcodes, and even then only a limited number of items worked with that feature. More than half of that shopping, 56.5 percent, will be done online, the organization says.
Retail optimisation specialist Periscope by McKinsey questioned 1,570 people in the U.S. and United Kingdom and found that 48% of United Kingdom shoppers have no plans to take part in Black Friday, as do 51% in the US. John Sullivan, a San Francisco State University business professor, said Amazon's 120,000 seasonal hires is the most he's seen at any firm.
Black Friday is November 25, but Amazon is getting a head start with its Black Friday Deals Store that opened on Tuesday morning. There's also a 55-inch Samsung 4K TV for $599.99 that comes with a $150 Dell gift card.
