Alabama WR Ridley entering National Football League draft

Georgia CB Deandre Baker is reporting that Damien Harris is passing on the National Football League and will play for Alabama for his senior season.

Harris was ranked as the No. 5 draft-eligible running back by Kiper.

Ridley's 224 career receptions also ranks second in program history behind only Amari Cooper's 228, while his 2,781 career receiving yards ranks third in program history behind DJ Hall (2,923) and Cooper (3,463). Having been thoroughly prepared for that next step, I am truly ready, because in the beginning, I chose THE RIGHT SCHOOL.

Alabama has several players with eligibility left who are projected high in the draft, including defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. This year, the redshirt junior rushed for a relatively modest 596 yards (4.8 YPC) and eight touchdowns.

In those games he caught 15 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Harris ran for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this season after running for 1,040 yards and two scores as a sophomore in 2016.

The Crimson Tide have now won five national titles during head coach Nick Saban's tenure and have made it to six title games, falling to Clemson last season.
