Acer reveals new powerful yet silent 2-in-1 and all-in-ones

The Acer Switch 3 will be available in North America in June starting at $399 (roughly Rs. 25,600); in EMEA in June starting at Euro 499 (roughly Rs. 34,800); and in China in July starting at CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 46,500).

The Acer Swift 3 is a sleek and portable device with great performance that's ideal for getting things done on the road and everywhere else.

Rounding out the bottom of the range are the Aspire 3 and Aspire 1. With a 27-inch 1080p display, the U27 includes Acer's LiquidLoop fanless cooling system for quiet operation.

Akin to Microsoft's Surface line and a number of other 2-in-1s, Acer has gone for a slimline lightweight backlit keyboard that attaches and detaches magnetically, boasting a thickness of just 5.85mm and 1.4mm of travel in each key, which feels more than enough when you consider the lacklustre keyboards on Apple's latest MacBooks offer just 0.5mm of travel. Two new models are available - the 12-inch Switch 3 and the 15-inch Switch 5. Acer claims it's the firm's first 2-in-1 to be offered with 7th-Generation Intel Core i7 and i5 chips, while also touting up to 512GB storage in a PCIe SSD, and up to 8GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM.

For the extra oomph, you can expect to pay upwards of €1099 (approximately £925) when the Switch 5 launches in June this year alongside the new Switch 3, which starts at €499 (approximately £925). The notebook has several storage options, including HDDs of up to 2 TB and SSDs of up to 256 GB. There's also a lower powered Switch 3, with Full HD screen and a choice of Intel Pentium or Celeron processors. They also come enabled with Dolby audio premium. Users can choose between a 15-inch or 17-inch display.

Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region. The Aspire 1 comes with a one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal, 1TB of OneDrive storage, a 14-inch display, an Intel Celeron or Pentium processors, 32GB or 64GB eMMC storage, 4GB DDR3L memory, Intel HD Graphics, a 9-hour of battery life, and a chassis that's 18mm in height. The Swift 1 also includes ultra-fast 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology, providing seamless connectivity. The notebook boasts up to 10 hours of battery life, the notebook support Windows Hello through fingerprint readers for fast and secure logins. It offers 2TB HDD or up to 256GB M.2 SSD storage, Acer TrueHarmony audio, two digital microphones with Acer Purified, and a Skype for Business Certification.

Both ship with the Windows 10 - presumably the Creators Update - and will have an additional BlueLightShield feature that helps reduce blue light emission, this will probably work well in tandem with Night Light's blue light reduction feature in Windows 10.
