Ina Rogers, the children's mother, was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of child neglect.
"The children described incidents of intentional abuse resulting in puncture wounds, burns, bruising and injuries consistent with being shot with a pellet gun or an Airsoft gun", said Fairfield police Lt. Greg Hurlbut.
In total, the couple has 11 children, KTVU reported (but other sources are reporting they have 10 children.) Eight of their children are biological children that they had together, KTVU reported.
"It literally breaks your heart, and you're outraged by how a parent or anyone could commit those acts", Henry said afterward.
While at the home, police said they conducted a health and safety search and discovered nine other children - ranging in age from four months to 11 years old - "living in squalor and unsafe conditions".
Inside Fairfield home where police say kids lived in "squalor"I strive, I thrive on being a good parent to my children", Rogers said".
"Officers situated unsafe and unsanitary dwelling circumstances together with rubbish and spoiled meals on the ground, animal and human feces and a considerable amount of particles making areas of the home unpassable", he stated.
The police took the children into protective custody. She was arrested March 31 and released on $10,000 bail.
The mother, 30-year-old Fairfield resident Ina Rogers, was arrested on charges of child neglect.
"The conditions they saw in my home was me tearing up my house because my son was missing", she said.
"We're a Christian family and Jonathan has not been raised that way", she said. "So I ripped up my whole house. tore everything out of the closet, lifted up the beds".
The investigation began March 31 when police in Fairfield, 46 miles northeast of San Francisco, responded to the missing juvenile report.
The father, 29-year-old Jonathan Allen, was arrested Friday after the children were interviewed.
She gave reporters a tour of her house on Monday, denying that her husband had abused the children. Detectives from the department's Family Violence Unit then started their own investigation and found evidence that the children had been subjected to physical and emotional abuse, Hurlbut said.
According to arrest records, Jonathan Michael Allen is being held on $1.5 million bail. He has pleaded not guilty. "He does have a lot of tattoos. he does look a little scary so it's easy to think that he's a monster, but he's not".
Police said the children were all home-schooled by their mother.
Ina Rogers has said that all the allegations against her and her husband are not true. Allen said she is estranged from her son and that he has kept his family away from the children.
The 12-year-old was found and returned to the Fieldstone residence.
"She was pretty concerned, and she was like, you know, running around the neighborhood", Magney said, adding that he was "shocked" to learn that 10 children were living in the house, the Chronicle reported.
